Presentamos un caso de tumor de estirpe neural (tipo neurilemoma) desarrollado en el espacio extrapleural, que se detectó en el estudio radiológico de tórax de un paciente sin sintomatología respiratoria. La localización extramediastínica de los tumores neurogénicos en el tórax es infrecuente. Se insiste en el necesidad de la biopsia para llegar al diagnóstico y de la exéresis en todos los casos, aún en aquellos supuestamente benignos.
The authors present one case of tumor of neural origin (neurilemoma type) which developed in the extrapleural space and was detected in a chest X-ray of a patient with no respiratory symptoms. The extramediastinal location of neurogenic tumors in the thorax is infrequent. The authors insist in the necessity of biopsy for establishing the diagnosis and of exéresis in all cases, although the tumor is supposedly benign.
