Summary

Premedication, local anesthesia and bronchofibroscopy contribute to a lowering of PO2 by 7.29mm Hg in this study.

It is advise the administration of supplementary O2 to patients with a basic PO2 of less than 70mm Hg.

Likewise, the authors recommend to administer O2 in cases of dyspnea and/or severe coughing during bronchoscopy and to patients over 60.
