Lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM) is a rare disease of women of child-bearing age in which there is hyperplasia of atypical smooth muscle along lymphatics in the lung, thorax, and abdomen. We present two cases with interstitial disease and pleural effusion on chest radiographs. One of them was studied with computed tomography (CT), the sean showed well-defined cystic air spaces, surrounded by uni-formly thin walls. The predominant size of the cystic air was less than 0.5 cm in diameter. Finally we make a differential diagnosis with other diseases that can cause cystic air spaces on CT scans.
