Summary

The development of bronchofiberscopes has constituted an important help in the diagnosis of bronchopulmonary diaseases. One of its main characteristics is its flexibility which added to the very reduced size of the tube allows for a deep penetration into the bronchial tree. As a result, the classic nomenclature has become very bothersome to describe the most peripheral bronchia. Here we propose a new system of nomenclature both practical and easy to memorize.
