Spontaneous hemothorax is an extremely rare complication of malignant disease. We describe the case of a 26-year-old man with spontaneous hemothorax secondary to large-cell carcinoma of the lung, with liver and bone metastases. The patient died in the fifth week after hospitalization.

El hemotórax espontáneo como forma de presentación de una enfermedad maligna es extremadamente raro. Describi-mos el caso de un varón de 26 años con un hemotórax espontáneo secundario a un carcinoma broncogénico de células grandes con metástasis hepáticas y óseas que falleció en la quinta semana de ingreso.
