Summary

The authors present two cases of localized interstitial pneumonia, one with an histological picture compatible with a desquamative interstitial pneumonia, and the other with a pattern of classical interstitial pneumonia.

After reviewing the cases of localized interstitial pneumonia that exist in medical bibliography, the authors conclude that the localized froms constitute a group with their own clinical-radiological characteristics, very different from those of the diffuse forms, and that they present so me therapeutic possibilities that are much greater than those for the diffuse forms.
