Se presentan cuatro pacientes afectados de quiste hidatídico primitivo de diafragma, dos en el lado derecho, dos en el izquierdo. Aunque el diagnóstico cierto de localización es casi imposible, debe sospecharse esta posibilidad ante una imagen redondeada de bordes nítidos en contacto con el diafragma. Las pruebas serológicas, la TAC representan ayudas diagnósticas imprescindibles. Los cuatro casos fueron intervenidos por vía torácica y extirpados los quistes (o sus residuos), sin que los pacientes hayan sufrido recidivas.
Four patients with primitive hydatid cyst of the diaphragm are reported. The disease was left sided in two patients and right sided in the other two. Although the definite localization diagnosis is virtually impossible, this condition should be suspected when there is a rounded image with clearly defined contour in contact with the diaphragm. Serologic tests and CT are mandatory diagnostic aids. The four patients underwent operation through a thoracic approach, and the cysts or their remains were removed without subsequent relapse.
