Summary

By means of a homologous and double antibody RIA the authors have determined the plasmatic con-centration of prolactin in 91 patients suffering from neoplasms of the respiratory apparatus in different locations, and with different clinical conditions and pathological anatomy. In 10 occasions (10.9%) valúes superior to 800 μ U/ml were obtained, the máximum limit of normality which was established in a control group of 125 subjects. A marked influence of metástasis on the hormone was not shown, ñor was there a special predominance of oat cells in the hyperprolactinemias.
