                 Zco=DLco medida×100/DLco ZSiendo DLco−Z=DLco teórica×Z

Z=2·X321+X32X=Va medido/TLC teórica

A new diffusion constant which in contrast with Kco is but little affected by changes in the alveolar volume (AV) in the same patient. This constant related the DLco measured with the AV of the test; the constant «Zco» expressed as:

                 Zco=DLco measured×100/DLco-Zif DLco-Z=DLco theoretically×Z

Z=2·X321+X32X=Va measured/TLC theoretically

In a study including eight healthy individuals tested at three different AV there was less variation in this parameter than in the classical DLco and Kco.

The values for two tests with patients are given as is a table to derive the «Z» and «X» factors.
